Great Grouse Production was founded in 2003 in Kiruna, Sweden with objective to establish a professional recording and production facility in the northernmost part of Sweden. Locally and regionally GGP could be a major contributor of services for clients in need of professional recording and production. GGP can undertake every type of production from typical non-complex demos to full-length CD´s in all musical styles. The recording/production-styles are from the traditional acoustic recording to the modern synth/sampler production with every variety in between.

GGPs´ production facilities accommodate a mixing room with additional overdubbing room. All recording is in the digital domain, but with premium quality microphones and outboard equipment as front end for the analog feel. Real analog vibe was of course also one of the main objectives when GGP was founded. For recording larger ensembles and if special acoustic requirements are needed the Great Grouse Mobile, a mobile recording rig is used. It contains all necessary equipment for achieving a professional studio recording on-location in a venue of clients choice or at GGP´s suggestion. It is of course also very suitable for live-recording at concerts and such. The mobile recording rig is accommodated in a Chevy Van or at the venue if additional rooms are available. It is for the client to decide if they want to come to GGP or if GGP should come to them…all options are available!

In-house engineer and founder of GGP is Niklas Johansson. A SAE Audio Engineering Diploma graduate with distinction at the Studios 301, (former known as Soundtrade Studios), Stockholm 2002. He is also a musician, foremost a guitar player with a past as a drummer. With a true passion for music in a wide variety of styles, a genuine foundation in recording and production and a obsession for achieving the “perfect” sound he will take your project to the highest standards.
